Copenhagen – where to eat?

A twitter friend asked me if I knew some good value restaurants in Copenhagen. She is going with a group in May. There are several nice restaurants in Copenhagen, the problem is which one to choose..

The people behind the well-known Italian gourmet restaurant Era Ora has opened an Italian fish restaurant called Acquamarina. The price level is reasonable, and their best option is Sunday brunch. Visit their Facebook page for more information. Photos: Flickr/heatheronhertravels

The Italians behind Era Ora also run the café at the legendary Jazzhus Montmartre. You can either go in the evening and combine your dinner with a jazz concert or take lunch here during the day. Photo: jazzhusmontmartre.dk

The Royal Café is worth a visit! Fab deco and interior design, and a nice courtyard garden. The Smushi is a must-try! Photo: kostaboda.com
For a good value meal in the evening I recommend the restaurant “Les Trois Cochons”. It has a nice atmosphere and delicious food. Photo: cofoco.dk

One of my favorite fast food chain restaurants is Wagamama. I have eaten at both their Amsterdam and London branches, and love the asian food and the concept. And luckily – they are also in Copenhagen! Photo: Flickr/TonZ

For the foodies I will recommend to go to Magasin du Nord, a department store located next to Kongens Nytorv Square. There are several gourmet shops in the basement, and houses a branch of Meyers Deli, where you can eat lunch or have a coffee. It is run by the famous Danish chef Claus Meyer.
