A visit to Strand Restaurant

By the seaside just outside Oslo, at Høvik, you find Strand restaurant. The old restaurant from 1924 is now stylishly renovated, and is taken over by brilliant young chefs from Flavours. Around lunchtime last Saturday I went for a visit with two friends. Only the bakery was open at lunchtime (except for Sundays), but we had a look around the rest of the place aswell. And what a place! The nice gourmet restaurant has huge windows with views over the Oslo Fjord, and the menu looked delicious. I must come back for an evening here somtime!
Mmm – what to choose?

Check out the cool bowlerhat lamps!

Delicious coffee from Supreme Roastworks

Ooops! The carrot cake ended upside down!

If you go for a little stroll around the house you´ll find several sculptures

Mmm – today´s menu in the gourmet restaurant
Nice view – and outside there is a nice terrasse for summertime eating and drinking

Of course I had to bring home some foodstuff – Homemade müsli, coffee and some cookies…

Skal legge dette stedet på minnet. Kan anbefale deg Dala-Floda Värdshus, Petite hotels.

Finally I have had the chance to eat at the “Matbaren” restaurant at Strand. We had the 3-course meal which was fab! Scallops with risotto of crayfish, prime rib of pork and crème brulée. And for the shopping afterwards – I bought home made müsli, coffee, chocolate and crisp bread. Delicious!
