A visit to Strand Restaurant

The old restaurant from 1924 is now stylishly renovated, and is taken over by brilliant young chefs from Flavours. Around lunchtime last Saturday I went for a visit with two friends. Only the bakery was open at lunchtime (except for Sundays), but we had a look around the rest of the place aswell. And what a place! The nice gourmet restaurant has huge windows with views over the Oslo Fjord, and the menu looked delicious. I must come back for an evening here somtime!

Nice view – and outside there is a nice terrasse for summertime eating and drinking
Of course I had to bring home some foodstuff – Homemade müsli, coffee and some cookies…

Finally I have had the chance to eat at the “Matbaren” restaurant at Strand. We had the 3-course meal which was fab! Scallops with risotto of crayfish, prime rib of pork and crème brulée. And for the shopping afterwards – I bought home made müsli, coffee, chocolate and crisp bread. Delicious!
