The Väderöarna Islands in Western Sweden

Why not go to the wonderful Väderöarna Islands (the Weather Islands) in Western Sweden, near Hamburgsund? The photos are from a trip last year in June. According to the website Vastsverige.com the Weather Islands have “one of Sweden’s warmest and windiest climates, which means lush vegetation as well as a barren, exposed landscape”. If you are lucky you can also enjoy one of the coast’s largest seal colonies. I recommmend that you stay the night at the islands only accomodation option – the Väderöarnas Värdshus. The 30-bed guesthouse has breathtaking views across the ocean – great food, service and charm. The easiest way to get here is to take the ferry from Hamburgsund or Fjällbacka.
